Nicole Barakat
Nicole Barakat is an artist and performance maker. Her practice embodies the love and patience that characterises traditional and contemporary textile practices.
Barakat’s work investigates the ability of cloth and textiles to communicate through material and aesthetic languages. Her work transcends the borders of art practice and cultural production, often incorporating drawing, sculpture, installation,
textile processes, performance, writing, story telling and collaboration. She often uses her body as a site for artistic practice.

Paula do Prado

Paula do Prado is a visual artist with a diverse practice including painting, photography, textiles and artists books. Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, do Prado migrated to Australia in 1986 as a young child. Her work is concerned with subverting and challenging dominant mainstream views on race, gender and cultural identity. She explores these themes from a deeply personal perspective, drawing upon childhood memories and family folklore.
