I've been in Montevideo, Uruguay for over a month now.  I've come to visit family and in particular spend time with my Abuela (grandmother).  As I often do on trips, I spend a lot of my time taking photos and making notes on the souvenirs, objects and charms that I find in my Abuela's house.  Many of my aunts also have large collections of objects ranging from antique teacups, cutlery, figurines to other novelty gifts they've received from family who have travelled or live overseas.  I am fascinated by these objects, where they've come from, how they came to be here and how collectively they come to represent multiple narratives (colonialism, immigration, family history).
